Engine Steam Cleaning Process
At Detail Doctors, we offer a comprehensive Engine Steam Cleaning Process designed to keep your engine compartment in top condition, promoting optimal performance and longevity. Here's a step-by-step breakdown of the process:
Step 1: Initial Assessment Before commencing the cleaning process, our skilled technicians carefully assess the entire engine compartment. We check for any open wires, cracked or dry plastics, and inspect air intake, air flow sensors, and fuel sensors.
Note: We do not use direct water flow in the engine compartment unless necessary. If there is excessive dirt buildup, such as mud accumulation, we may use a minimal amount of water to break down the initial heavy level of dirt. However, we never employ high-pressure water directly.
Please be aware that engines more than 10 years old might require extra attention and time, and an additional charge may apply.
Step 2: High-Pressure Air Blow To begin the cleaning process, we use a high-pressure air blower to dislodge and remove loose debris from the engine compartment. This ensures that any loose dirt and debris are effectively expelled.
Step 3: Commercial Grade Hand Steamer Utilizing our state-of-the-art Commercial Grade Hand Steamer and employing proper techniques, we meticulously go over the entire engine compartment. The steamer effectively breaks down and removes grease, oil, and other buildup that accumulates under the hood of the car. Our skilled technicians get deep into all areas using appropriate brushes and extension tools. We also perform steam cleaning on the underside of the hood and hood jambs, leaving no area untouched.
Step 4: Second Air Pressure Blow After the steam cleaning process is complete, we perform another air pressure blowout to ensure that any remaining dirt or moisture is removed from the engine compartment. We then hand-dry the top of the engine and hood jams.
Step 5: Plastic and Trim Conditioning To conclude the engine steam cleaning, we apply a premium conditioning treatment to all plastic and trim surfaces under the hood. This treatment helps hydrate and shine hoses and plastic components, contributing to their longevity and overall appearance.
